Who I Am

If you’re here, you’re probably wondering if I could be the right guide to walk alongside you in your coaching journey. It may help if I also shed light on my own journey with you—a journey that started in Greece, that brought me all over the world, and that continues on in New York.

I can’t honestly say if I chose tennis or it chose me, but my lifelong passion for the sport began at my childhood home in Greece and has taken me around the world. I have had the privilege of competing against the best players in the game and the honor of representing my country in both the Davis Cup and the Olympics.

In retiring at the age of 28, I moved to the US and began coaching-–soon realizing my passion for helping people in all areas of their lives. I endeavored on a growth trip that resulted in a PhD in Performance Psychology with a minor in Coaching & Leadership, a Master’s degree in Human Behavior, being named President of Greece for the International Sport Mental Coach Association, two certifications from the most recognized life coaching organizations in the field, and a teaching certification in meditation and mindfulness.

After a lifetime spent on the tennis court, 12 years of nonstop, nomadic travel across the world, and a rigorous course of scientific study, today, I am an advocate of transformational change and a certified professional life and mental performance coach. I believe in the power of your journey in bringing you to your truest, highest self-–and I invite you to learn more about the revolutionary metamorphosis approach I’ve created to help you break through your barriers, free your mind, and become the absolute best version of yourself.

I couldn’t be more thrilled that your journey has brought you here, and I can’t wait to join you for this next phase in your metamorphosis. Welcome!

my unconventional journey To Metamorphosis

Full of Experiences and Lessons Learned (from a boy in Greece to where I am now)

When I was 8 years old, tennis came unexpectedly into my life and offered me a purpose and a dream.

When I was 13 years old, my parents made the decision for me to quit the sport I loved to play for an entire year (tennis), as it would be “impossible” for me to make it due to the financial demands of the sport.
For the rest of my childhood, I made the decision to dedicate my life to the pursue of excellence, concentrating my efforts only to my academics or my tennis training and tournaments.
At 14, I convinced them to let me play again, negotiating my “return to the sport” terms with them, and within 2 months I won the national championship in my age group.

As an adolescent, I made the decision not to follow the typical path of life based on academics of every other Greek adolescent and dedicated my life to tennis.

I moved to a different country (the Netherlands) to pursue this dream at that age with no finances, but only my body and mind as my only resources.

I left home at seventeen to pursue my dream of becoming a professional tennis player.

I received full-ride scholarships to several colleges in the US due to my junior world ranking in tennis, but I rejected all of them to continue with my dream.

As a professional tennis player, I traveled allover the world (way more than the average tennis player does). I would buy around the world tickets and would pretty much leave home January and return in December, not ever feeling the need to regroup or rest.

Over the years, I also represented my country for several years in the Davis Cup competition and participated in the biggest tournaments in the world including the Grand Slams.

I had the honor to participate in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, only 6-months after a yearly long back injury (herniated disk).

During my career, I also felt the urge and need to help other people, so I made the decision to:

  • Become a round-the-clock student of life and knowledge absorber by not only connecting with people of all backgrounds, cultures, ages, and professional standards through my world travels, but also observing and studying their ways, thought processes, behaviors, attitudes, and winning approaches.
  • Become an avid learner and dedicate any free time to studying anything related to people’s mind, psychology, performance, coaching, and leadership, leading me to have earned several degrees and certifications related to those.
  • Become a messenger of knowledge absorbed to anyone with the desire to improve the quality of their lives.

I retired as a player at the age of 28 (too soon for a tennis player) because of a combination of events (many injuries, exhausted body and mind, and the conviction that it was the right time for me to do so)

While in the US, I immediately started working as a coach, but I never limited myself to a fixed job working for anyone. I enjoy and cherish the freedom of helping others without any restrictions and limitations!

I immediately moved to the US for the next part of my life, don’t ask me what it was at that point, I only knew I wanted to share my knowledge and help people. I had met many people in my travels that attracted me to make US my next destination in my journey.

Even though I started helping people through my coaching in the sports world, I quickly realized that I had an absolute passion in helping people in all areas of their lives, so I dedicated my life to collect even more knowledge and information through additional studies that would give me a “scientific” expertise to complement my 15 year “life expertise” I collected through my travels and the people I met.

I am still an around-the-clock student of life as I am a firm believer that in every step of our way there is a lesson to be learned. – The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know (Albert Einstein).

Therefore, I went on a several-year long “growth” trip that resulted in a PHD in Performance Psychology with a minor in Coaching and Leadership, a certification and eventually the promotion to the title of President of Greece of the International Sport Mental Coach Association, followed by two Life Coaching certifications from the most recognized experts and organizations on the field, and a certification in Meditation and Mindfulness teacher training.

My Values as a Coach

Consistency
is Key

Work ethic and determination have always been core to my career. Coaching is no different.

Failure is Impossible

I believe there is no failure; there are only lessons and challenges that can be solved with creativity.

Do Good to See Good

I believe that fortune smiles upon those who strive to leave things better than they found them.

Solution-Minded, Always

Every day, I recognize that I have a choice to deny my “problems” any semblance of power over me.
